Seventy Temple High School Students are the first Central Texas High School students this year to achieve the Conover Workplace Readiness Credential through the Student Occupational Awareness and Recognition Program (SOAR) provided by Workforce Solutions of Central Texas.
The Workplace Readiness program currently has seventeen components and each program takes approximately 1-2 hours to complete.
The Central Texas Workforce Development Board, Inc., dba Workforce Solutions of Central Texas, is accepting proposals from qualified organizations for the management and operations of its Workforce Centers (aka One Stop Centers, aka American Job Centers).
The local Workforce Centers provide business and job seeker services for the seven Texas counties of Bell, Coryell, Hamilton, Lampasas, Milam, Mills, and San Saba.
Workforce Solutions of Central Texas is led by a board of directors comprised of community leaders from local businesses, educational institutions, labor groups, economic development corporations, community-based organizations, and government entities.
Under their direction, Workforce Solutions of Central Texas implements the Workforce Investment Act principles so that local residents gain access to career opportunities and employers can build the workforce they need for success.
Workforce Solutions of Central Texas board members are appointed by local officials and work in tandem with the State of Texas to develop policies and guidelines, and to provide oversight of the local workforce investment system.
